One critically injured victim under treatment in TMH
Jamshedpur/Potka: Two persons died while one got critically injured in a collision between a bus and a motorcycle on the Hata-Tata road under Potka police station area on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Nibu Sardar (55) and Shailendra Mahato (25). Manoj Sardar, son of Nibu Sardar, sustained critical injuries in the mishap. He was taken to Tata Main Hospital where his condition was reportedly touch-and-go.
Sources said the accident occurred in the morning when Nibu Sardar, his son and Shailendra Mahato were returning from Tirildih village. The three had gone to Tirildih to meet the would-be bride of Manoj Sardar. Nearing Turi village, a speeding bus knocked down the motorcycle, killing Nibu Sardar at the scene.
Shailendra and Manoj were sent to TMH. The former died late evening, sources said.
Police seized the bus whose driver reportedly fled the scene after the mishap. The bodies of the deceased victims were sent to MGM Medical College for postmortem examination.
Cops said they were searching for the errant driver. They said an FIR had been lodged against the accused.
