Jamshedpur: Free LPG connection distribution took place at a special camp organized at Kishore Sangh in Bhalubasa on Saturday. Chief Ministerís representative Pawan Agrawal, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha general secretary Gunjan Yadav and Chandrashekhar Mishra jointly inaugurated the camp.
Addressing the gathering, Agrawal said the sole objective behind organizing the camp was to ensure that all under-privileged and needy families get rid of traditional stoves using coal, dung cakes and firewood. Cooking on LPG would prevent pollution and the various diseases caused due to inhalation of smoke, he said.
Agrawal said so far 2000 people had applied for LPG connections. He said the state government would soon start training women in order to ensure their empowerment. These women will be trained in making pickles, candles, incense sticks and phenyl, he said.
Yadav and Mishra said there were certain people trying to hinder development works in the state. Such people are enemies of the state, they said.
Among those present during the programme included Tuntun Singh, Debu Sarkar, Sanjana Devi, Babita Sharma, Shashi Prabha Dikshit and Shishir Kalindi.
