SP sets up Camp Office to enhance community engagement

Seraikela, Oct 12: District Superintendent of Police Dr. Bimal Kumar has taken a proactive step to connect with the community by inaugurating a Camp Office at JIADA Bhawan in Adityapur.

This initiative is part of a previously announced program, reflecting his commitment to address public grievances.

In line with his promise to meet complainants police station-wise, the camp office was operational at the Adityapur police station area’s JIADA Bhawan from 12 noon to 2 pm on Thursday. The SP prioritized meetings with the elderly and women during this session. Dr. Kumar explained that the purpose of these camp offices is to make it more accessible for people from distant locations to address their concerns. Often, even minor cases fail to deliver justice, and such camps aim to bridge this gap.

The SP informed that every Thursday, he will resolve complainants’ issues by being present at the JIADA Bhawan camp office. In case of his absence on a Thursday, an alternative session will be held on Saturday, again from 12 noon to 2 pm. This approach will be replicated in the Chandil sub-division as well, where similar sessions will take place once a week. The schedule will be communicated to the public through the media.

The SP reassured the public that they can celebrate the upcoming Durga Puja and festivals without fear. The police will maintain a strong presence across the district to ensure law and order, particularly focusing on traffic management and addressing any disruptive elements. He emphasized that the police are closely monitoring individuals with criminal records, and appropriate actions will be taken, including issuing Section 107 notices and directing individuals to the District Magistrate or daily police station appearances, as per the case. Special police teams and Station House Officers (SHOs) are actively addressing issues like drug abuse and hooliganism within their respective police station areas.
