Jamshedpur: Jusco School (South Park) got the better of Andhra Association 5-4 via tiebreaker in a closely fought junior boys qualifying match of the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports football tournament here on Tuesday.
It was Jusco who broke the barren spell at the Armoury ground when Shoaib Khan scored in the 46th minute. However, their joy was shortlived as Faheem Khan equalised for Andhra Association three minutes later. Thereafter both teams failed to find the net until end of the regulation time. In the ensuing tie-breaker, Rahul Ojha, Shoaib Khan, Maaz Ansari and Yash Bhargava converted their penalty kicks for Jusco.
For Andhra Association, Tausif Iqbal, Arsalan Khan and Md Saif were successful from the spot but Hidayat Ali and Sahil Ali missed their chances leading to their ouster.
Shankar Hembram netted twice while teammate Sagen Hembram scored another to hand out 3-1 win to Upgraded High School, Chainpur against Upgraded Middle School in a junior boys qualifier at Sumat Moolgaokar Stadium in Telco colony. Sagen put the Chainpur School ahead in the 10th minute while Shankar scored in the 41st and 45th minutes.
Shivlal Tudu scored the solitary goal for Upgraded Middle School.
Kerala Public School, Adityapur edged out Kerala Public Project School, Kadma 1-0 in another qualifier at Armoury ground. Devdas Tudu scored the only goal in the match in the 55th minute.
Earlier, Sidhu Kanu Shiksha Niketan High School, Dimna (SKSN) prevailed over Upgraded High School (Khuradih) 3-1 at the Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium. Vishal Bodra scored twice in the 13th and 31st minutes while Sanat Mumru booted the third goal in the 45th minute for the winners. Karan Sardar scored the solitary goal for the Khuraih school in the 33rd minute.
Gitilata High School were big winners trouncing Guru Gobind Singh High School 6-0 in another junior boys qualifier at the same venue.
