South Eastern Railway GM inaugurates Haldipokhar railway station

Jamshedpur/Potka, Oct 18: South Eastern Railway General Manager Archana Joshi, who reached Haldipokhar under Chakradharpur division to inspect the new railway siding, inaugurated the new railway station. The station will shorten the journey to Puri from Tatanagar via Haldipokhar. 

DRM Vijay Kumar Sahu of Chakradharpur Railway Division was present on the occasion. He directed the cerened officials for lapses towards the work and to complete the work soon. In this sequence, the demand for restoration of the railway gate near Kumhar Pada Railway Gate and Giri Bharti High School was made by the local people. A letter was handed over to the General Manager regarding this.

The work of Haldipokhar new railway siding is going on a war footing. Haldipokhar railway station was started in 1910 in which a local train Tata-Badam Pahar used to run which is still running today. Haldipokhar railway station was removed by Chakradharpur railway division last 5 years ago, but in view of the increasing number of trains in Tatanagar station and mines in Odisha, the electrification work of 70 km of this route has been completed by the Railways.

In the course of talking, the General Manager said that as the need increases further, the facilities at the station will be increased . Iron ore tender has been received by Rungta Mines.
