Kolkata/Jamshedpur, May 10: Though passenger train services remain suspended due to nationwide lockdown but Goods and Parcel Express Trains are continuing to run to maintain uninterrupted supply of essential commodities across the country. Apart from Freight and Parcel Express Trains, Shramik Special Trains have also been introduced for stranded migrant workers and such trains are plying in South Eastern Railway�s jurisdiction.
In view of the above, people/migrant workers are requested not to walk on railway tracks. Walking on the railway tracks is extremely dangerous and strictly prohibited. People walking on railway track are treated as trespassers and it is an offence.
People/migrant workers are requested to have patience and not to use the railway track under any circumstances. The situation will improve gradually, if required, they may contact district/local administration.
South Eastern Railway has geared up it machinery even at the grass route level. Advisory has been issued to the concerned officials. It has been ensured that the cases of trespassing are to be reported from every corner. Adequate staff and security persons over the track are being arranged. All the Loco Pilots have been advised to keep a sharp look out for trespassers on the track and blow horn frequently and take necessary action as and when required. RPF and Engineering staff, who are on patrolling duty, have also been advised to prevent such type of trespassing on track and report to the higher officials immediately. Gatemen at all the manned level crossings are being instructed to be vigilant and prevent all sorts of trespassing and report, if any. Station Masters have been directed to take appropriate action and inform the local administration about the incident immediately for necessary assistance in this respect.
