South Bihar Express rolls out as Ladies Special

Jamshedpur, March 8: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the South Bihar Express ran between Chakradharpur and Rourkela as Ladies Special. The train was driven by lady loco pilot SR Horo, lady assistant loco pilot S Lakra while Punam Rana was the guard. The ticket checking staff and RPF personnel were also women. Chakradharpur Railway Division’s DRM Vijay Kumar Sahu presented the loco pilot a bouquet and then flagged off the train.

At the Chakradharpur station too, women controlled train services. Meena Sathpathy (Station Master), Indrani Ghatak (Deputy Station Master) and others were engaged in the duties of points personnel. Senior DCM Manish Kumar Patghak and a large number of women rail employees were present on the occasion.
