Jamshedpur, May 23: The five-day Chess Summer Camp-2025, organized by Chandan Chess Academy, concluded on Friday with much enthusiasm and celebration at Tumbling Tortilos Restaurant in the Circuit House Area. Held from May 19 to 23, the camp brought together young chess talents who competed in 11 intense rounds across four categories.
In the Senior Group, Souryadipta Sarkar emerged as the champion, followed by Rian Rohal Gollapalli in second place and Purav Rushabh Gandhi in third. In the Junior Group, Vivaan Rahul Mittal claimed the top spot, with Atharv Adesara and Abhay Dayal securing second and third positions respectively.
The Senior Girls Group saw a commanding performance from Saanvi Gandhi, who took first place. Aditi Kashay and Keshal Fichadia finished second and third. In the Junior Girls Group, Monali Biswas clinched the top honour, while Kaavya Sanghi and Anvi Agarwal followed in second and third positions.
Beyond the competitive spirit, the camp was marked by inclusivity and encouragement, as all participants were awarded medals and certificates of participation. Throughout the event, several esteemed guests delivered motivational speeches, inspiring the budding chess enthusiasts.
The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Purabi Ghosh, a noted social worker and cultural activist, along with Guest of Honour Akshay Agrawal and Tournament Director Ruam Biswas Sarkar. Chief Organiser Chandan Kumar Prasad, International Arbiter and Head Coach of Chandan Chess Academy, interacted personally with each participant. He encouraged children to continue playing chess, emphasizing its benefits in reducing stress and fostering forward-thinking.
The camp ended on a high note, celebrating not just the winners but the spirit of learning, perseverance, and passion for the game.
