Sonari Sabuj Sangh to erect attractive Kali Puja pandal

Jamshedpur: Sonari Sabuj Sangh (SSS) in the township�s East Layout will erect a large and attractive Kali Puja pandal akin to that of Durga Puja. Vikas Debnath, the owner of Pramila Tent House in West Bengal�s Kanthi will supervise the construction of the huge pandal. A 14 feet high idol of Goddess Kali will be placed on the puja pedestal of Sonari Sabuj Sangh pandal. Kali Puja celebrations will commence on October 28 and continue till October 31. The immersion of the idol will take place on November 1.

Central Minister Arjun Munda, state Minister Saryu Roy and parliamentarian Bidyut Baran Mahto will jointly inaugurate the pandal at 8 pm on October 26. According to the SSS organizers there will be cultural programs including art, games and musical chair competitions for children and ladies and musical events between October 28 and 31. The main attraction on the evening of October 31 would be the performances of SA RE GA MA famed artistes Ahana Ghosh and Kuntal Banerjee.

The SSS committee chairman RK Shahi and president Ashok Goel were present during the briefing. The Bhumi pujan or foundation laying ceremony for the pandal site was performed today. Present on the occasion were SSS general secretary Kajal Mukherjee, Bapi Nayak, Shubhendu Bhowmick, Pranab Mukherjee, Bimal Moitra, Pradip Banerjee, Sajal Das, Anuj Sanyal, Ashok Banerjee, Swapan Mukherjee, Amar Das, Buro and other members.
