Jamshedpur, June 18: Several social and trade bodies in the city have called for boycott products like cosmetics, bags, toys, furniture, footwear, watches. These are part of a list of 450 categories of products made in China that will be boycotted by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) over border clashes.
A delegation of Central Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (CGPC) led by Sardar Shailendra Singh met DC and handed a memorandum. The Sikh community has demanded immediate action the Chinese aggression.
Condemning China for its aggression along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh, which led to the killing of Indian soldiers Monday night, Singh said the entire community has united and demand action against China.
Meanwhile, CAIT has decided to aggressively step up its nationwide campaign to boycott Chinese goods. The traders� body Tuesday released a list of over 450 broad categories of commodities, which have over 3,000 Chinese products.
�We strongly condemns China for their military aggression across the LAC in Ladakh wherein three Indian soldiers lost their lives. In the wake of these continued border skirmishes with China, the CAIT has decided to step up its nationwide movement against the boycott of Chinese goods, which was launched on 10 June under its campaign �Bhartiya Samaan-Hamara Abhimaan�,� said an official of CAIT.
CAIT, which represents 7 crore traders and 40,000 trade associations, has announced boycott of 3,000 Chinese products.
The Swadeshi Jagran Manch has also called for the boycott of Chinese consumer goods listing out about 10 reasons for the same. �China is not a democracy. It has one party rule and wherever China was a big trade partner, the people of that country were opposing it. It has happened in Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Pakistan and African countries, where it was trying to impose its hegemony. China is the hub for piracy and hacking as well,� an official said.
