Smart phones to empower women socially and economically: Amar Bauri

Seraikela: Mukhya Mantri Sakhi Mandal smart phones are being distributed to empower the people socially and economically and make India a developed nation.

The Central and state governments are making endeavours to make sure that women become technically smart and empowered. This was observed on Friday by the state land reformation and revenue cum sports minister of Jharkhand Amar Bauri at Seraikela community building during Mukhya Mantri Sakhi Mandal smart phone distribution programme.

The minister said the thinking and attitude of women had changed a lot today. The government at the Centre and in Jharkhand are doing every bit to utilize the positive energy and potential of women.

This is resulting in the socio-economic development of women, he said.
Bauri said the government had plans to make five lakh BPL families economically independent and convert them from BPL to APL category families.

The minister said the government had decided to provide market to self help groups so that their products could be sold at the right price. He said women would be greatly benefitted by the smart phones.

Also present on the occasion, the DC of Seraikela-Kharsawan Chhavi Ranjan said the Sakhi Mandal women could bring about social and economic revolution by utilizing the smart phones. He said the women would get empowered through knowledge.

DDC Akansha Ranjan said the smart phones would make the dreams of the women folk come true. She said women would be strengthened socially and economically through the smart phones.

District manager of Jharkhand State Livelihood Programme Society Sudipto Banerjee said there are a total of 2707 women Sakhi Mandals in the district. He said a total of 50 village organizations had been formed so far.

Zila Parishad president Shakuntala Mahali, district BJP president Uday Singhdeo and LDM RK Sinha were also present on the occasion.
