Jamshedpur, April 3 : The Sidhgora police apprehended six members of a mobile snatching gang operating in the city. The arrested, identified as Sunny Kalindi alias Nunu, Vishwajeet Gorai alias Babu, Akash Dutta, Sonu Singh Sardar alias Teto, Tinku Lal Sahu, and Rohit Kalindi, have been remanded to judicial custody.
Acting on a tip off of the gang’s activities in the Sidhgora and Telco areas, a team led by the Sidhgora police station in-charge was formed. The mobile snatchers’ gang leader, Sunny Kalindi, was the first to be apprehended, leading to the subsequent detention of his associates. Police recovered a cache of stolen items, including 15 mobile phones of various brands, 10 packets of brown sugar, 3 motorcycles, 10 halogen lights, ₹3,800 in cash, old currency worth ₹500, and rolled-gold jewelry.
City SP Mukesh Lunayat commended the efforts of the police team, emphasizing their swift action in taking the lid off the criminal network. The arrested are being interrogated prior to judicial proceedings.
