SIR: Voters of Jugsalai, Jamshedpur East and West to verify electoral rolls before January 4

Jamshedpur: All voters of Jugsalai (SC), Jamshedpur East, and Jamshedpur West Assembly constituencies have been asked to verify their names in the current electoral roll (SIR 2003) and submit the required details to their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) through telephone at the earliest. The district administration has fixed January 4, 2026, as the deadline for providing details to ensure the preparation of a clean, accurate, and error-free voter list.

Voters can obtain contact details of their respective BLOs through the Election Commission of India portal https://voters.eci.gov.in under the option “Book a call with BLO.” For state-level verification, voters may also visit https://ceo.jharkhand.gov.in, while voters whose names were registered outside Jharkhand in the 2003 Special Intensive Revision can search their details on the national portal https://voters.eci.gov.in. Dedicated toll-free helpline numbers 1950, 7992311534, and 7004922797 have been activated to assist voters in the verification process.

The appeal was issued following a high-level review meeting on the voter list mapping process, chaired by District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi. The meeting was attended by Electoral Registration Officers, Deputy Election Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, BLO supervisors, Booth Level Officers, and other officials of the Election Department, both in physical and virtual modes.

During the meeting, Satyarthi emphasized that accurate voter list mapping is the backbone of the Special Intensive Revision process and is essential for the smooth conduct of future elections. He underlined that urban areas within the six assembly constituencies of East Singhbhum require special attention due to high population density, frequent migration, and changes in residential patterns. He directed all election personnel to adopt a focused, field-oriented approach over the coming week to maximize coverage.

The District Election Officer stressed the importance of strong coordination among BLOs, supervisors, and senior officials. He instructed that mapping work in areas with low coverage must be expedited through targeted field visits and public outreach activities. Door-to-door verification, interaction with residents, and community-level awareness drives were highlighted as key tools to connect directly with voters and eliminate gaps in the electoral roll.

Special instructions were issued to identify absent voters, duplicate entries, and cases where photographs in the voter list are black and white or unclear. Updating and correcting such records, he said, would significantly enhance the quality of the electoral roll and reduce inconvenience to voters during the intensive revision phase. Regular monitoring and review of BLO performance was also directed to ensure accountability and timely completion of tasks.

Reiterating that no eligible voter should be left out, Satyarthi said that voter identity verification must be treated as a priority. He noted that accurate and comprehensive mapping will not only strengthen democratic processes but also make the Special Intensive Revision exercise more voter-friendly and transparent.
