Chaibasa, July 3: Singhbhum MP Joba Manjhi made a significant debut in the Lok Sabha by addressing crucial issues concerning Jharkhand. In her inaugural speech during the motion of thanks on the President’s address, she prominently raised demands pivotal to the state’s welfare.
Manjhi’s foremost appeal was for the implementation of the Sarna Dharma Code, stressing its importance in preserving the cultural identity and existence of tribal communities in Jharkhand. Additionally, she pressed for the allocation of a special package aimed at fostering comprehensive development across the state.
The MP from Singhbhum also expressed dissent on various national issues, including economic policies, the NEET paper leak, and drew comparisons between historical and contemporary emergencies. She highlighted the public’s dissatisfaction despite the government’s technical majority in the House, urging for policies that resonate with voter sentiments.
Highlighting economic disparities in Jharkhand, Joba Manjhi pointed out persistent challenges such as poverty, unemployment, disease, and widespread migration. She emphasized the necessity for equitable distribution of economic resources to address these issues effectively.
On the housing front, Manjhi criticized the unequal implementation of PM Awas Yojana in Jharkhand, advocating for more substantial support from central initiatives like the Abua Awas Yojana. She also demanded the state’s rightful share from GST collections to ensure financial stability and growth.
