Singhbhum Chamber wins Tata Steel’s Inter Corporate Cricket Tournament 2025

HDFC Bank finishes runner-up; Tinplate Division claims third place

Jamshedpur, Dec 7: The Inter Corporate Sports Tournament 2025, organised by the Department of Sports, Tata Steel, concluded its cricket competition on Saturday at the TSG Cricket Ground, Gamharia. A total of eight corporate teams participated in this first-of-its-kind event, aimed at strengthening bonds among organisations through sports.

Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries lifted the champion’s trophy after an impressive performance throughout the tournament. HDFC Bank, Jamshedpur, secured the runners-up position, while Tata Steel Tinplate Division took the third place.

The tournament successfully brought together corporate professionals in a spirit of sportsmanship, friendship, and healthy competition. Tata Steel, for the first time, organised an event on such a large scale to promote unity and collaboration among companies in the region.

Adding a special highlight to the tournament was the mandatory inclusion of two female players in each playing XI, encouraging greater participation of women in sports. Tata Steel said this effort reflects its commitment to diversity and inclusivity across all fields, including athletics.

Individual awards were also presented during the closing ceremony. Bhupendra Yadav from Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries was declared Man of the Tournament. The Best Batsman award also went to Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industries, while Best Bowler was bagged by Shadab from Tata Steel Tinplate Division. The Best Fielder award was given to Karan Singh from TIMKEN.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by DDC Saraikela, Reena Hansda, as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included Manav Kedia, President of Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce & Industries, and Akhilesh Tiwary, Vice President of HDFC Bank, Jamshedpur branch.

Building on the positive response, the Sports Department of Tata Steel announced the upcoming badminton event on December 13–14 and relay competitions on December 14. Entries will remain open until December 12, 2025.
