Jamshedpur: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) extended heartfelt congratulations to Chief Minister Hemant Soren on his second consecutive term as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand. In a formal letter, the Chamber highlighted its optimism for development under Soren’s leadership and urged immediate attention to long-pending demands, particularly the construction of an airport in Jamshedpur or Dhalbhumgarh.

SCCI President Vijay Anand Moonka expressed confidence in the Chief Minister, stating, “We believe that under the guidance of an experienced and fearless leader like Hemant Soren, Jharkhand will achieve significant progress. Industrial and business activities will thrive, fulfilling the aspirations of the people.” He emphasized that establishing an airport would not only benefit the Kolhan region but would also serve as a catalyst for statewide development.

Highlighting the historical and economic importance of Jamshedpur, Moonka said, “Jamshedpur, known as the Steel City and the economic capital of Jharkhand, has a legacy of over 100 years. Despite being home to over 1,300 industries, its overall development remains incomplete without an airport.”

Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia stressed the urgent need for air connectivity, citing its impact on investments and youth migration. “The absence of an airport discourages new investors and businesses. Our youth, after completing their education, prefer to leave the state, taking potential revenue and growth opportunities with them. This hampers Jharkhand’s development while benefiting other states,” he noted.

Vice Presidents Abhishek Agarwal Goldie and Puneet Kanwatia pointed out the logistical challenges faced by residents and visitors. “Currently, people must travel to Ranchi or Kolkata to board flights. This not only wastes time but also creates inconvenience. Jamshedpur, as a major revenue contributor to the state, deserves an airport to meet its growing needs,” they said.

Other Chamber members, including Vice President Anil Modi, Advocate Rajiv Agarwal, Secretary Anshul Ringasia, Binod Sharma, Bharat Makani, Suresh Sharma Lipu, and Treasurer CA Anil Ringasia, echoed these sentiments. They urged the Chief Minister to prioritize the construction of an airport to unlock the region’s full potential.

The Chamber emphasized that an airport would attract investors, create job opportunities, and ensure comprehensive development, aligning with the vision of a prosperous Jharkhand. They expressed hope that Chief Minister Hemant Soren would act decisively to address this critical demand.
