‘Sindoor Vijay Trophy’ cricket series begins at NIT Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 31: To celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor by India’s Armed Forces, NIT Jamshedpur has launched the Sindoor Vijay Trophy, a triangular cricket series under the banners of Khelo India and Fit India campaigns. The series is being played from June 1 to 15 at the Downs Ground, NIT Jamshedpur.

The competing teams include JDCA Doctors XI (Jharkhand Doctors Cricket Association), Loyola Alumnus XI and NIT Jamshedpur XI. The tournament’s grand opening was held on May 31, 2025, in the presence of NIT Jamshedpur Director Prof. R. V. Sharma, Registrar Col. (Dr.) N. K. Rai and Dean of Student Welfare Dr. R. P. Singh, along with players from all three teams.

The event saw enthusiastic support for sports from dignitaries, symbolizing the institute’s commitment to promoting fitness and athletic spirit.

A total of seven matches will be played in the series, with the final scheduled for June 15 at Downs Ground. Cricket lovers can follow the tournament live on the CricHeroes app under the title Sindoor Vijay Trophy.
