Ranchi. The Railway Ministry has given its green signal for the construction of Silli-Ilu bypass rail line under Ranchi Railway Division. With the construction of this railway line, two hours of time will be saved in commuting between Howrah and Tata. This will save time of passengers and also save resources of Railways.
The demand for Silli Illu rail line was being made by the local people for the last many years. MP Sanjay Seth had written a letter to the Union Railway Minister for the construction of a six kilometer bypass line. Ranchi Railway Division has sent the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the headquarters.
It is being told that the survey of the proposed Silli-Ilu bypass rail line has been approved in the budget for the financial year 2020-21. For the second time in the survey, the length of this proposed line has been reduced from about 10 km to six km.
There has been demand for Silli-Ilu new line since 2015. The construction of this line will lead to development of the surrounding areas. With the availability of this service, Tata-Ranchi trains will not go to Muri Junction and will go up and down via Silli-Ilu. This will also reduce the load of trains from Muri station. In this light, a proposal was sent to the Railway Board by Railway Division, Ranchi.
After the initiative of the MP, the Railway Board and the Railway Minister have shown seriousness. Its DPR was prepared and now its construction has also got the green signal. For this, a budget amount of Rs 125 crore was to be allocated to the Railway Board. With the completion of this railway line of just six kilometers, both passengers and railways will be benefited.
