Sikh youth be given opportunity as Sevadaars in Jamshedpur Gurudwaras

Jamshedpur, March 23: There are 34 Gurudwaras in Jamshedpur but in most of these places of prayers, there were ongoing disputes on elections for managing committees. As a religious Sikh preacher, Harvinder Singh Jamshedpuri opined that the disputes emanating from politics and groupism did more harm than good and left the general people disturbed. He said, “Such disputes mar the religious ambience in Gurudwaras. I strongly believe that if the reins of committee functions are gradually passed on to the youth segment of Sikhs, and given the privileges of Sevadaars, such disputes will not arise. I strongly recommend the gradual transfer of management and prayer functions to the younger generation.” Religious preacher Harvinder Singh Jamshedpuri also said that the Sikh youth had the potential of wringing in positive changes that would lead to proper management of Gurudwaras and create the right atmosphere for prayers without sans feelings of rancor.

Harvinder Singh has appealed to the intellectuals of the community to provide a chance to the youth to serve once that would lead to 100 percent positive changes. He added, “Guru Arjun Dev Ji had initiated the concept of Guru Ghar ka Golak (store house for donations) so that the poor could be helped. Such services are in need of youth and their determination. Guru Arjun Dev Ji started the Golak concept with the youth in mind and this concept needs to be implemented practically. The day this change is effected, a new canvas for society will emerge. If this happens, the first move will be the introduction in every Gurudwara of Gurmat classes for children, free dispensaries, library with books pertaining to the evolution of Sikhism and our community will have a stronger foundation.”
