Gamharia: Hul Diwas was celebrated with fervour in different localities of Gamharia in Seraikela-Kharsawan here on Friday.
Local JMM leaders paid floral tributes to Sidhu-Kanhu in Kandra and Salampathar villages.
Present as the chief guest, local MLA Champai Soren said Sidhu and Kanhu had sacrificed their lives to fuel the fire of revolution against the British rule. He said the martyrs had lost their lives to a great cause.
In a similar fashion, the tribals of the state need to rise to the occasion and do something for Jharkhand, he said.
Among others present on the occasion included Amrit Mahato, Krishna Baskey, Gora Burman, Ramchandra Tudu, Haridas Tudu, Sokhen Hembram, Sudhir Hansda, Mohan Baskey, Phulkant Jha and Sonaram Hembram.
