Chaibasa: The last rites of Shyamu Charan Tubid, veteran freedom fighter and father of State BJP spokesperson JB Tubid, was held at his residence in Sikrusai village in Chaibasa on Friday.
Wrapped in tricolour, Shyamu Charan Tubid was laid to rest with state honours.
Minister Nilkanth Munda, former chief secretary Rajbala Verma, congress leader and former Jharkhand Assembly speaker Devendra Champia along with thousands attended the state funeral.
Different political and social organizations lined up to pay tributes to the first ST Minister of undivided Bihar. Shyama Charan Tubid was also a former Congress MLA.
His grandson Film Director Tanuj Bhramer, son JB Tubid and all family members were present.
Shyamu Charan Tubid, 98, passed away late on July 18. He was undergoing treatment at Medica Hospital, Ranchi.
