Yatra dedicated to bravery of defense personnel

Jamshedpur: The annual Shri Shyam Nishan (flag) Yatra under the aegis of Shri Shyam Bal Mandal and organized by Ratri Nishan Yatra Samiti will be taken out from the Sakchi Shiv Mandir and proceed to Baikunth Dham Mandir in Jugsalai where these flags will be offered at the feet of Baba Shyam.
This year, the Yatra (procession) assumes greater significance as each of the 2,100 devotees expected to participate in the procession, will be carrying the tri colour as Nishan as the Yatra is being dedicated to the bravery of our defense personnel and martyrs who gave their lives to protect the country.
Briefing newspersons today Mandal officials Anil Modi and Vimal Agrawal said that in the usual course Nishan Yatra is taken out on the Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha every month and Shri Shyam devotees take out Nishan Yatra following the same route.
They also mentioned that Phagun is the month of the festival of colours, Holi and at this time, a huge fair is organized at the Baba Shyam Temple in Rajasthan�s Khatu where devotees from all over the country and abroad arrive in hordes. If for some reason like paucity of time, some devotees cannot visit the temple there, glimpses of Khatu will be available in this Yatra, the Mandal officials stated. The devotees in the procession carry flags of Shri Shyam and chant mantras all along the route. For this upcoming Shyam Tiranga (tricolor) Yatra, arrangements have been made for live performance of Bhajans. The Baba�s decoration, the 56 items for the holy consecration and the 36 other specialities to be offered to Baba will also be parts of the attraction of this Yatra.
The organizing committee will include Gaurav Khandelwal, Hitesh Pareek, Amit Agrawal, Sandip Barwalia, Arvind Modi, Babbu, Mohan and others.
