Jamshedpur, Nov. 16: Lions Club of Jamshedpur Steel City in collaboration with Tata Steel Zoological Society and conducted a fancy dress competition for the tiny tots on the fourth day of the ongoing world wild life week celebrations at picnic area in the Jubilee Park on Sunday.
Altogether 35 children participated in the event. They were divided into two groups and performed on the theme ‘Save Environment.’
Seventeen children took part in Category I for the children of Nursery and LKG, while 18 UKG and Class I students took part in Category II. The panel of judges comprised Vandana Mishra, Sunita Singh, Meena Bhagat and Seema Rani, and they had a tough time in deciding the winners.
Rajnish Kumar, Lions Club first vice-district governor, graced the occasion as the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners along with Bipul Chakraborty, director, Tata Zoo. Region chairperson Vinita Shah, Sanjay Mahato, curator, and Jayshree of Tata Zoo too graced the occasion and blessed the children.
In Category I – Nursery and LKG- first prize went to Shreyasi Bakhla of RVS Academy, second prize was bagged by Sushmita Das of RVS Academy while Dipankshi Jha of Jamshedpur Public School received the third prize.
In category II – UKG and class I- first prize was bagged by Ayesha Khatoon of RVS Academy, second prize went to Fraz Ahmed of RVS Academy while third prize was grabbed by Mantassa Tabassum of RVS Academy.
