Shraya Tiwary emerges best speaker at English Elocution in Carmel Junior College

Jamshedpur, May 2: The Annual English Elocution 2026 was held at Carmel Junior College with great enthusiasm in the school auditorium on Saturday, witnessing active participation from students of Classes V to XII. The event provided a platform for young speakers to showcase their oratory skills, confidence, and command over the English language.

Students competed in various categories, including Poetry Recitation (V–VI), Storytelling (VII–VIII), Extempore (IX–X), Declamation (IX–X & XI–XII), and Debate (XI–XII). Participants impressed the audience with clear diction, expressive delivery, and strong voice modulation.

The programme began with a prayer followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by School Manager Sr. Jyoti D’Souza, Principal Sr. Sharel, Vice Principal Sr. Amala Rani, Moderator Lily Sidhu, Guest of Honour Khushboo Singh, and judge Tejaswini Sakhuja.

The competition was judged by a distinguished panel including Koyesha Mukherjee, Tejaswini Sakhuja, and Abhishek Sinha. The judges praised the students for their confidence, clarity of thought, and maturity in presenting ideas.

Shraya Tiwary emerged as the Best Speaker of the Day for her outstanding overall performance. She also teamed up with Yashwee Agarwal to win the Best Debating Team award. Winners in all categories were felicitated with certificates and medals, while all participants were appreciated for their enthusiasm and effort.
