Jamshedpur, July 17: The Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, Dr Ravi Ranjan had launched, Shramev Vandate, a scheme to urge migrant workers who had returned to their native villages from other states during the lockdown phases, to stay back in their homes as they would be provided employment under various MGNREGA schemes. This scheme was launched by the Chief Justice in May earlier this year.
Shramev Vandate scheme is designed to help migrant labourers returning from other states by linking them to MGNREGA and other government schemes. The implementation of Shramev Vandate is being implemented by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Jamshedpur under the directives of Secretary, Nitin Neilesh Sanga.
The scheme is being followed up at Block and Panchayat levels by respective PLVs. Migrant labourers in rural areas are being explained the scheme. Protective protocols like social distancing and wearing masks are being followed during the campaigns.
A novel mode of the campaign being followed is through wall paintings that contain drawings and the salient features of Shramev Vandate in majority languages of the area. These informations are written in Hindi, Bengali, Santali, Nagpuri and other languages. DLSA, through PLVs, is encouraging migrant labourers not to leave their homes under the assurance that they would be provided employment under MGNREGA and other government schemes.
