Jamshedpur, June 11: A devastating fire erupted in the warehouse of a computer solution shop located at Chandni Chowk under the Parsudih police station, resulting in the destruction of goods worth approximately Rs 30 lakh. The fire, suspected to have originated from a short circuit, engulfed 50 computers, air conditioners, and numerous other items stored in the warehouse.

The incident occurred around 1 o’clock late on Monday night, prompting a swift response from the fire brigade. It took approximately two hours for the firefighters to bring the blaze under control.

According to the owner, Abhay Tiwari, who also resides on the first floor where the warehouse is situated, the fire was noticed by his wife while she was attending to some chores upstairs. Despite efforts to douse the flames by family members and neighbors, significant damage was incurred.

Tiwari lamented the loss of 50 laptops, along with various computer-related items and household appliances such as a fridge, TV, washing machine, and AC, all of which were reduced to ashes.

Suspecting a short circuit as the cause, Tiwari mentioned the recent installation of an Airtel fiber connection to replace a Jio fiber connection. However, the exact location of the short circuit remained subject to investigation. Authorities from the Parsudih police station are currently looking into the matter.
