Jamshedpur, July 15 : The police have recovered two empty cartridges from Road No 1 under Azadnagar police station area in Mango after firing incident on Sunday night. The armed youths, two of them identified as Mohammed Arshad and Mohammed Nayab, managed to run on being chased by the local residents.

Senior police officers, including SP City, Subhash Chandra Jat  rushed to the spot 30 pm   to take stock of the situation. Nanhe Hussain (19) and another youth Qaseeb Ahmed were targeted in the attack.

” It is too early to comment. We are probing into the incident and will shortly arrest those who are involved in the firing at Azadnagar in Mango last night.  We have already identified those who had fired the shots,” said Jat.

Sources said Arshad who is a resident of Kapali had called Hussain, a resident of Alibag Colony, Azadnagar to Road No 1 in Azadnagar to settle the old enmity.

” As per our investigation. Three more youths, including Nayab were with Arshad where as Hussain was alone. During the hot talks, Arshad and fired two rounds targetting toward the surface.  Soon one of the two unidentified youths had also fished out a pistol and fired two shots in the air.  As the sounds of firing attracted local residents, the four miscreants who were in two bikes fled toward Kapali,” said a local resident.

On June 15, a JMM activist Jaheed Khan had been shot at by unknown miscreant on Mango-Pardih road, June 27, a firing had taken place near Madhusudan Complex in Teachers’ Colony. On June 30, a political activist Pappu Singh was shot at in Ulidihthana area in Mango and July 3, unidentified criminal had fired a shot at the house of a medical store owner near Gurudwara Road in Mango.
