Jamshedpur, Sept 26: Shiksha Satyagrah, a city-based social organization, Thursday warned private educational institutions against persecuting students in the name of discipline. In a statement issued today, the outfits founder and district BJP spokesperson Ankit Anand said no school will be allowed to suspend or punish students following Hindu religion and culture. He said the schools should not take punitive action against children on the basis of their religious biases. He alleged that certain missionary organizations were working under a strategy to punish students and compel them towards religious conversion.
Anand said the state government should order the audit of financial transactions and property held by all private schools being run by missionary organizations. He alleged that a sizeable portion of the funds collected by many such schools was utilized for religious conversion.
Anand said he would soon meet the district superintendent of education and hand him a petition to demand audit of private schools. He said the district administration should take stringent action against such schools and curb exploitation of parents in their hands.
