Shiksha Niketan Jamshedpur quailifies for semifinals of Indian Navy Quiz THINQ–25

Jamshedpur, Oct 18: Shiksha Niketan School, Telco, Jamshedpur, has brought laurels to the city by qualifying for the semifinals of the prestigious Indian Navy Quiz, THINQ–25. The semifinal rounds will be held at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala, on November 4, followed by the Grand Finale on November 5.

According to a Defence Ministry statement issued on Saturday, a total of 16 teams from across the country — four from each zone — have advanced to the semifinals after an intense zonal competition held on October 13 and 14. Eight of these teams will move on to the grand finale.

Representing the East Zone, the four schools selected for the semifinals are: PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Samastipur (Bihar); Shiksha Niketan School, East Singhbhum (Jharkhand); DAV Public School, Bhubaneswar (Odisha); and Santragachi Kedarnath Institution, Howrah (West Bengal).

From the West Zone, the semifinalists include Cambridge Court High School, Jaipur; Jayshree Periwal High School, Jaipur; St Anthony’s Senior Secondary School, Udaipur; and Subodh Public School, Jaipur — all from Rajasthan.

The North Zone will be represented by Dr Virendra Swarup Education Centre, Kanpur; Dewan Public School, Meerut; Spring Dale Senior School, Amritsar; and KL International School, Meerut.

From the South Zone, Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Chennai; Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Chennai; Sainik School, Kodagu; and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kannur, have qualified for the semifinals.

The Defence Ministry official noted that THINQ–25 (The Indian Navy Quiz 2025) aims to provide a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange and competition among students while fostering awareness about the Indian Navy’s heritage, operations, and values. Participants will also get a rare opportunity to visit state-of-the-art training facilities at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala.

The quiz, targeted at students from Classes 10 to 12, began its journey with the registration process on June 10 this year. It generated overwhelming enthusiasm nationwide, with as many as 35,470 teams registering for participation. The event has witnessed an incredible response from students eager to showcase their knowledge and represent their schools on a national stage.

The zonal rounds tested participants on a range of topics, from general awareness and defence knowledge to logical reasoning and current affairs. The competition aimed to inspire students to dream big, think critically, and cultivate leadership qualities — values deeply aligned with the Indian Navy’s ethos of honour, courage, and commitment.

Last month, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, while addressing students at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Navy Children School (NCS), Delhi, encouraged young learners to nurture a strong sense of national pride and purpose. “Dream with determination and pursue your goals with sincerity,” he told them, urging students to stay humble, strong, and true to their duties.

He praised the Navy Children School and other Defence Ministry-run institutions for shaping character and discipline among students, calling them “not just centres of learning but training grounds for leadership, integrity, and responsibility.”

As THINQ–25 moves into its final stages, anticipation runs high among students and educators alike. For Shiksha Niketan School, Jamshedpur, reaching the semifinals marks a moment of pride and inspiration — a testament to the school’s focus on academic excellence and holistic development.
