Saraikela, Jan. 7: Shakutala Mahali was elected president of district council. Mahali received 13 votes against Chami Murmu of five votes.
Talking to the media persons after her win, Mrs. Mahali said, Panchayats will be developed as smart while every single panchayat will connected with roads, while toilets, drinking water facility, health services, electricity will be made available. People have given me a second chance and it’s my durty to complete all the pending work as early as possible.
Ashok Sahu was elected district council vice-president as he received 11 votes against his competitor Om Prakash who got 7 votes.
General Secretary of BJP Ganesh Mahali and MLA Sadhucharan Mahto expressed their happiness and said that her victory is actually victory of the people of the area. Mahali said that she will work for the welfare of the people.
At the event several BJP activists along with MLA Sadhucharan Mahato, Zila Parishad member Sudhir mahato, Social worker Santosh Mahato were present.
