Jamshedpur, August 12: The Shakambhari mata family celebrated the goddess’s first ‘sindhara’ and ‘jhulanotsav’ festival on Wednesday.
The event took place at the Shiv temple in Vijaynagar Golmuri. The event mesmerised the audience with melodious bhajans and enchanments of the goddess.
Tunes like ‘agar ghar aa jaye to ghar mandir ban jaye..’, ‘aavo jhula jhulva maiya ka lad ladva..’ and other songs enthralled the devotees.
The programme began at 3 pm and continued till 8 pm in the evening. It began with a prayer followed by the lamp lighting ceremony.
The grand decoration of the jhula (swing) was noteworthy. Around 125 women dressed in their traditional Rajasthani attires participated in the event.
The swing, lamp lighting and the feast were the key attration for the event. Usha Shah, Nitu Harnathka, Manisha Kauntia, Shilpi Palasniya, Kavita Agarwal, Anita Sharma and Anju Singhania combined their efforts to make the event a success.
