Jamshedpur, Nov14: On the occasion of Children’s Day i.e. November 14, Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation organised 49th Annual Healthy Baby Competition.
Through this annual event, the Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation aims to educate parents on proper immunisation of the child, breastfeeding practices, giving nutritious food and following temporary/permanent methods of family planning for young parents.
This year preliminary round was conducted in all the 12 clinics run by the TSFIF doctors and team. The criteria for short listing the babies included meeting health criteria for the babies as well as awareness level of the mothers. A total of 96 babies were shortlisted from the 12 clinics for final round held at Dhatkidih Community Centre.
Chief Judge Dr B R Master adjudged champion baby girl and baby boy as Shainy Mahapatra (Baby Girl) of Mitali Mahapatra & Pranav Mahapatra and Rishit Raj (Baby Boy) of Pooja Singh & Dinesh Kumar Singh were declared the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, Ruchi Narendran lauded the role of Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation in providing maternal and child healthcare services for decades.
She emphasised on the importance of nutrition in child’s growth. She congratulated all the mothers who participated in the annual event and gave prizes to the mothers of winners.
Dr. P C Mohapatra, Head – Family Initiatives and Health, Dr. Pushpa Tiwari, Jt. Administrator – TSFIF and staff members attended the programme. Mrs Rama Khanna, Dr Poonam Mehta, Dr. Kiran Chopra, Mrs Bajaj, Mrs Ravina, Dr Jaya Moitra, Dr Nisha Tiwari, Mrs. Padma were judges for final round.
