Jamshedpur: The JNAC, in order to repair the sewage-drainage line on MP Road in Sonari Purana Basti had dug up a wide opening with a depth of about seven feet. According to locals, as a result of employing a JCB for digging purposes, an old sewage pipe connecting a public toilet was damaged causing dirty water to overflow and spill onto the road thereby making life difficult for the residents living along the MP Road.

When the matter was reported to the JNAC Special Officer Krishna Kumar, he visited the spot and assured of prompt action but, till date, no action has been taken. The seven feet deep trench was dug on the order of the Urban Development Department to repair the sewage-drainage line.

The agitated local residents today protested the lethargy of JNAC and decided to protest at the DCs office to express their grievance and order immediate rectification of the problem that is also creating health hazards.
