Seven sunstroke patients hospitalized in Baharagora

Jamshedpur: Seven persons were admitted to hospital in Baharagora on Monday. They include three 60 year old persons. Health department sources said the sultry weather was causing sunstroke like symptoms to appear in the people. One of the victims, Bhupen Mahakud, was sent to MGM Hospital in serious condition.

Others, Banshi Nayak (60), Rohini Khamrai (60), Durga Behra (60), Durga Mandi (45), Lakhan Nayak (28) and Koyal Nayak (3). They are undergoing treatment at the Baharagora Community Health Centre.

According to doctors, the patients suffered from dehydration caused by sunstroke. Most affected among the victims are those working in open fields during the day, they said.
