Jamshedpur: Bharatiya Janata Party members paid tributes to Pundit Deen Dayal Upadhyay on his 49th death anniversary at Bhalubasa Chowk on Saturday. The Jamshedpur Mahanagar committee of the party observed Samarpan Diwas (Sacrifice Day) in commemoration of the party’s ideologue.
Addressing the gathering, Asha Lakra, Mayor of Ranchi, said Pundit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya had laid his life for his values and ideology. She said the BJP was working towards realizing the goals set by the great leader and was sure to achieve the same in the days to come. She said the party was working to ensure the service of the last man in the queue as dreamt by Pundit Upadhayay.
Also present on the occasion, district BJP president Dinesh Kumar said the state and Central governments led by the BJP were running many development and welfare schemes based on the philosophy and ideology taught by Pundit Upadhyaya. He said the party workers were also doing everything possible to ensure that the benefits of the government schemes reach the common man.
The MP of Jamshedpur Vidyut Varan Mahato was present as a distinguished guest during the programme. He said that all BJP leaders were guided by the values propounded by Pundit Updhayay.
Many party members were felicitated for their performance on the occasion.
They included Manager Prasad, Jai Narayan Singh, Bramheshwar Mahato, Shashi Prabha Dikshit, Baidyanath Tiwary, Sitakant Pandey and Janardan Pandey.
