Series of events mark annual day at DAV NIT

Jamshedpur: DAV Public School, NIT, Adityapur, hosted its annual function 2017-18 in the school premises on Wednesday. This was a perfect venue for children to instill positive values, recognize their abilities and talents through an array of entertaining programmes.

The function was presided over by the chief guest, Prof. Karunesh Kumar Shukla, director, National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur. The guest of honour was Sushil Kumar Luthra, regional director, DAV Public Schools, Jamshedpur Zone.
The function began with the lighting of lamp followed by DAV song. Soon after this, a welcome dance was presented by the graceful dancers of the school.

Addressing the gathering, O P Mishra, the principal of the school, in his welcome speech, presented the annual report highlighting the achievements of the school and students and thanked the director, Luthra, for his constant support.

Luthra spoke a few words of wisdom and appreciated the school’s efforts.
Earlier, each class danced to the tune of all Hindi hit songs with colourful props, depicting the value of culture, tradition, modern views of life, environment and the like.

The events to name a few were Journey of Krishna, Saraikella Chau, Medley Songs, Folk Dance, Ramp Walk by junior students, Qawwali, Western Dance and the Instrumental by the school students.

The audience was enthralled by a well directed dance, drama and fusion.
Inderjit Gandhi, Amrita Dey, Nilanjan Mitra made sincere efforts to make the programme a grand success. The entire programme was anchored by Ashutosh and Sanskriti of the school.

This was followed by an enlightening speech from the chief guest, Shukla, who applauded the theme of annual day and school’s effort to nurture the talents of the children in curricular and co-curricular activities of the school. Meritorious prize winners of academics and CCA were felicitated with medals.
