Seraikela, May 22: A comprehensive review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Champai Soren, the Tribal Welfare cum Transport Minister of the Government of Jharkhand, to assess the progress of various schemes implemented across different departments. The meeting took place at the auditorium in the District Collectorate and was attended by Deputy Commissioner Arwa Rajkamal, Zila Parishad President Sonaram Bodra, Deputy Development Commissioner Praveen Kumar Gagrai, Project Director ITDA Sandeep Kumar Doraiburu, Additional Deputy Commissioner Subodh Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr. Vijay Kumar, District Education Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer Seraikela, and other senior officials from related departments.
The purpose of the review meeting was to evaluate the progress of ongoing schemes, ensure their timely completion, facilitate the easy accessibility of welfare benefits to eligible beneficiaries, and promote overall development, women’s empowerment, and the upliftment of the impoverished sections of society. Minister Champai Soren urged all departmental officers to work in unison to achieve these objectives.
During the meeting, Minister Champai Soren emphasized the importance of cooperation in the development of the region. He urged all officials to establish effective coordination and strive to benefit deserving beneficiaries through various schemes as outlined by the government.
Key schemes discussed during the review meeting included pre-matric and post-matric scholarships, central plan items, schemes operating under Section 275/1 of the Constitution, Chief Minister’s Livestock Development Scheme, Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme, Shaheed Village Development Scheme, CCD Scheme, Birsa Awas, Dhamkudiya Bhawan/Tribal Art Center/Sarna/Masna/Jaherthan/Hadgadi, renovation and repair of Scheduled Tribe Hostels, and Forest Rights Act. Minister Soren stressed the need to expedite development work in rural areas under these schemes and complete them within the specified timeframe, thereby ensuring that people benefit from the intended objectives.
Furthermore, Minister Soren instructed officials to raise awareness and ensure a wider reach of the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme so that more unemployed youth in rural areas can be connected with self-employment opportunities. Sensitivity and proactive efforts were highlighted as key factors in promoting self-employment. Regarding the Electricity Department and Drinking Water Sanitation Department, Minister Champai Soren directed officials to promote the benefits of schemes such as providing 100 units of free electricity and the cell settlement scheme in rural areas through various channels, ensuring that people can access and take advantage of these initiatives.
