Seraikela, Dec 24: Seraikela police acting on the directive of Seraikela-Kharsawan superintendent of police, Mohammed Arshi carried out an anti-crime vehicle checking drive at all the police stations in the district on Thursday.
Traffic police along with city police initiated one such drive along Tata-Kandra Main Road targeting two-wheelers and four-wheelers wherein cops checked the documents of the riders and also asked them to wear helmets. Cops also asked the riders to open the space given in the two-wheelers for keeping goods. The drive is being carried out to curb rising criminal incidents.
Adityapur traffic thana in-charge, Vijay Singh said that usually criminals use two-wheelers for committing crimes and the police are therefore focusing more on checking two-wheelers and also checking four-wheelers whose riders appear to be suspicious.
