Seraikela: The deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan K Srinivasan today held a meeting with the district officials regarding the implementation of the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana. Under the CM�s pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens, several people will be taken to Puri-Bhubaneshwar.
The DC convened the district planning officer Suresh Singh and asked him to make necessary arrangements for the pilgrimage of the senior citizens selected under the scheme. The DC said the pilgrims should be divided into groups. The senior-most member of each group should be given charge of the group, he said.
Two officials, Amarendra Kumar, assistant director of social security cell and Gauri Shankar Sahu, block welfare supervisor, have been deputed with the groups to accompany the pilgrims on their tour.
Sources said a total of 200 passengers will be taken on pilgrimage from across the district tomorrow (Friday).
Vehicles have been arranged by the administration to pick up the pilgrims from their respective blocks. Fooding and lodging facility will also be provided to the pilgrims, sources said.
