Seraikela: Seraikela-Kharsawan district has turned out to be the top among all the districts of the state in terms of highest voting percentage in Jharkhand during the second phase Lok Sabha elections with the total voting recorded at 73.85 per cent.
The deputy commissioner-cum-district returning officer of Seraikela-Kharsawan. Hansraj Singh said the voting percentage in the district was reported to be the highest. There are three Assembly segments of Ichagarh, Seraikela and Kharsawan in the district. The respective voting percentage in these segments was recorded to be 77.07, 69.96 and 75.95, the DC said.
The DC, accompanied by the SP of Seraikela-Kharsawan Madan Mohan Lal, congratulated the voters of the district and everyone else who contributed to the high polling percentage. He said the intensive awareness campaign launched by the district administration ahead of the second phase polling led to the outstanding result.
�The voting percentage is motivating and excellent. It is the result of zeal shown by voters who have taken their duty seriously and come out in large numbers. We had appealed to voters to exercise their voting right for sure and make the election successful,� said the DC.
The SP said eight polling booths were relocated due to security reasons. �Voting took place peacefully at all polling booths. Voters turned out fearlessly and in large numbers, making the polling process successful,� he said.
