Seraikela DC’s scanner on 213 erring BLOs

Seraikela, August 30: The District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Arava Rajkamal has sought clarification from 213 BLOs of Seraikela constituency number 51. The clarification sought pertained to the directives of the Chief Electoral Officer and Secretary of the Election Department for linking Aadhaar numbers of the voters in the voters’ list in Form 6 B.

It may be mentioned that the programme for entry of Aadhaar numbers had commenced in the Saraikela-Kharsawan district on August 1. The Chief Electoral Officer had directed the BLOs concerned to expedite the work of updating Form 6 B for which daily targets for updating the form had also been issued to BLOs and Supervisors. But it was reported that 213 BLOs had not completed even 45 percent of the responsibilities allotted to them and were lagging behind in achieving  the daily targets set. The Deputy Commissioner has sought explanations from the erring BLOs and reportedly, action would be taken against them if they were unable to provide satisfactory reply within 24 hours of the show-cause notices served to them.
