Seraikela, March 27: District Level Peace Committee meeting was organized under the joint chairmanship of District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner Arva Rajkamal and Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar in the auditorium located at the District Collectorate regarding the upcoming Ram Navami festival. In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that Ram Navami festival should be celebrated with mutual harmony and brotherhood. During this, he said that there are 47 licensed and 31 non-licensed Akhara committees in the district. In which procession will be taken out by some committee on 30th and maximum committee on 31st.
The DC said that adequate number of magistrates and police force would be deputed to maintain law and order on the occasion of Ram Navami. He said that all the sub-divisional officers and concerned administrative officers should ensure that the procession taken out by various licensed and non-licensed Akhada Samiti during Ramnavami Puja is completed on the prescribed route line and within the stipulated time.
“All Akhara committees should make sure that songs that hurt any religion or community are not played in any way. All police station in-charges should ensure that there is no playing of songs on loudspeakers and DJs in any way from 10 pm to 6 am,” said the DC.
The DC instructed the Sub-Divisional Officer and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer to be present in the sensitive area during the procession and all Block Development Officers, Zonal Officers and Station House Officers to be present during the procession and conduct the worship in a peaceful environment.
During the meeting, the Executive Officer, Electricity Division, Seraikela and Adityapur, was asked to keep power supplies off during the procession and to restore it after it is over. He was also directed to get loose overhead electricity wires repaired before procession. The Sub-Divisional Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police were instructed to stop the movement of heavy vehicles on the route of the procession as per the requirement.
