Seraikela: In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha general elections, State Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar, along with Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Neha Arora, conducted inspections at various polling stations within the Kharsawan Assembly constituency. The aim was to assess the readiness and facilities available for voters.
During the inspection, specific focus was placed on polling stations numbered 189 and 190 under Chilku Panchayat, as well as Adarsh Middle School Kharsawan, designated as polling station number 166. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar emphasized the importance of strengthening all basic facilities at each polling station.
Instructions were issued to enhance arrangements for toilets and drinking water facilities, and to ensure adequate lighting in classrooms. Furthermore, officers were directed to prioritize polling stations with historically low voter turnout, employing various outreach strategies to encourage voting participation among all demographics, especially women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla, Superintendent of Police Manish Toppo, Sub-Divisional Officer Seraikela, District Deputy Election Officer, Circle Officer Kharsawan, and Circle Officer Seraikela were among the officials present during the inspection.
