Seraikela, March 24: ‘Mahanayak Garuda’ will be presented in Seraikela style Chhau dance form at the Indian Cultural Heritage Festival to be held in New Delhi under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
A team of specially trained artistes of Saraikela dance form of Acharya Chhau Nritya Bichitra left for New Delhi under the leadership of Padma Shri Guru Shashadhar Acharya and joint Director Ranjit Acharya. Ranjit Acharya informed that in March, four programmes would be organized by the Chhau dance team of Acharya Chhau Nritya Bichitra. He said that on March 27, Seraikela Chhau would be presented on the occasion of Swadhara to be organized by the Somnath Temple Trust, Government of Gujarat. This performance would follow the programme on March 25 at the Indian Cultural Heritage Festival in New Delhi. On March 29, Saraikela Chhau will be presented during the Basant Utsav programme organized by Indian Revival Group in New Delhi. The final performance of the team for the month of March will be held on 31st at the Unbound Bits of India Festival in New Delhi.
The team includes Ranjit Acharya, Sukanta Acharya, Satish Modak, Kuna Samal, Sudip Kavi, Govind Mahto, Shubham Acharya, Gunjan Joshi and others.
