
Jamshedpur: South Eastern Railway (SER) is likely to start Ranchi-Tatanagar Express in the first week of August. According to in talks with Railway Board going on it is expected that the board will give its approval very soon and the State Government is also almost ready to give its approval then SER will start the train.
SER will mainly focus on safety of women and children�s facility because they suffer most if there is any accident along with it will also focus on timely and punctual running of trains. The SER will stress on hygienic food and water facility for the passengers and it will also make special arrangement for the cleanliness of railway stations.
�With a view to control overcharging slap by Railway vendors on the passengers Indian Railway has issued a circulation that the vendors have to give bill for their sold items. SER will start awareness drive for the passengers to demand bill if they buy any things from the vendors,� said an official. On the issue of scarcity of Railway coaches he said that he will ask Railway Board to provide coaches.
He suggested that customers should complain if they get contaminated food in trains. In this case SER will slap fine on the canteen contractor or it can cancel the contract and allot to another contractor.
SER has received Rs 2523.46 crore for the financial year 2019-20 which is 4.46 per cent higher than last year. There is Rs 833.50 crore provided for double line, Rs 658 crore for change of rail tracks and Rs 260 crore for road safety, road over bridge and road under bridge. Rs 175.42 crore provided for passenger facilities and Rs 130.70 crore for traffic facilities.
