Jamshedpur, Oct 12: South Eastern Railway ( SER) has announced a weekly festival Special train between Tatanagar and Kacheguda, located near Hyderabad.
As per the plans, the train will leave Tatanagar every Friday between October 15 and November 5. The return train will leave Kacheguda every Saturday between October 16 and November 6. 08197 Tatanagar-Kacheguda Special will leave Tatanagar at 5.15 am and will reach Kacheguda at 11am the next day.
In the opposite direction, 08198 Kacheguda-Tatanagar special will leave Kacheguda at 12.45 pm. The train will arrive in Tatanagar at 4 pm, the next day. The special train comprises four AC 3 Tier, eleven sleeper class and four general second class coaches and will have stoppages at Chakradharpur, Rourkela and Jharsuguda in SER jurisdiction.
Officials of SER said that the decision has been taken to ensure hassle free journey to the passengers during the festive season. “Durga puja is the biggest occasion not only for the eastern part of the country but for the railways too. Large numbers of people travel to their native places. This will help to reduce the rush on the stations,” said an official of SER.
Meanwhile the decision of SER to introduce new has given people a reason to smile. “The decision is a welcome move from the Railways. This would ensure a peaceful journey. One can look forward to meeting relatives and friends during the festive season,” said U K Srivastava, a senior functionary of Chotanagpur Passengers’ Association.
Meanwhile the computerised reservation centre at Tatanagar has already recorded a climb in booking. The waiting list has crossed the 100 mark for most long-distance mail and express trains headed towards New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.
