Jamshedpur: South Eastern Railway (SER) General Manager Anil Kumar Jain promised safer, superior, and modern facilities for rail commuters during a comprehensive ‘window trailing’ inspection from Kharagpur to Ghatshila on Tuesday.
Accompanied by senior headquarters and divisional officers, Jain evaluated railway tracks, signaling systems, and existing passenger facilities to accelerate the region’s ongoing infrastructure development.
GM Pledges High Standards for Amrit Bharat Station Upgrades
Upon reaching Ghatshila, the General Manager specifically reviewed the redevelopment works under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. Jain focused heavily on transforming the commuter experience, evaluating plans for:
- Expanding passenger amenities and modernising platforms.
- Enhancing station beautification and waiting hall facilities.
- Upgrading sanitation systems and implementing modern infrastructure.
During the evaluation, Jain ordered officials to complete all developmental works ahead of schedule. He explicitly demanded high construction standards so passengers can access these improved amenities at the earliest.
Collaboration with MP Focuses on Passenger Convenience
Later, Jain held a high-level coordination meeting with Member of Parliament (MP) Bidyut Baran Mahato at Ghatshila. Senior railway officials attended the session to discuss train operations and station development.
Mahato urged the railway administration to expand local infrastructure, noting that passenger traffic in East Singhbhum and adjoining areas continues to grow rapidly. He submitted targeted suggestions to enhance train punctuality, strengthen station management, and resolve passenger grievances quickly.
Responding to the MP’s requests, Jain reiterated that South Eastern Railway places the highest priority on upgrading the passenger experience. He promised that SER will continue to modernise stations under the Amrit Bharat Scheme and keep passenger comfort at the centre of all future initiatives. After the meeting Jain detailed SER’s concrete roadmap to modernise regional rail infrastructure and elevate passenger services.
