Jamshedpur, Feb 6: Anil Kumar Mishra, the General Manager of the Railway, conducted an extensive inspection of Tatanagar station, including the RRI Building, Diamond Crossing, Up-Down Line, and Railway Underpass, during his assessment of the Third Line from Asanbani. The inspection continued through Adityapur and Chandil, with the presence of key railway officials, DRM, ARM, and Station Director.
Providing updates, Railway GM Anil Kumar Mishra announced the completion of the third line from Kharagpur to Salgajhudi. The upcoming focus is on extending the third line from Salgajhudi to Adityapur via Tatanagar, with expectations to commence operations by July. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the redevelopment of Tatanagar railway station is soon to be approved, with an initial allocation of Rs 450 crore, subject to potential adjustments during the finalization process.
In an ambitious vision, GM Mishra envisions transforming Tatanagar Railway Station into a world-class facility, akin to an airport, through the redevelopment project. He emphasized the commitment to passenger comfort and convenience, highlighting plans to reinstate ramps, lifts, and escalators for disabled passengers in the near future.
