Jamshedpur: All India Seminar on “Enhancing Gear Box Reliability (For Mechanical Engineers)” was been organized at The Institution of Engineers (India) Jamshedpur Local Centre on Wednesday.
The chief Guest of the inauguration function was Rajesh Mishra, Chief SSTG, Tata Steel.
In his inaugural address he stressed upon the importance of reliability in today’s competitive business environment. He also pointed out that such relevant topics are not covered in college curriculum as on date. Hence such seminars serve great purpose by sharing of practical knowledge and experience across various participants.
The course was designed by P D Mundhra, CEO, Tayo Rolls. The course covered topics like Gearbox- An Overview, Basics of Reliability, Reliability Centered Maintenance Strategy, Reliability Enhancement- Case Studies in IV session.
Faculty members had rich practical experience and sound theoretical knowledge of practical applications and field problems. The seminar was conducted in four sessions.
Faculty members included senior executives of organisations like Tayo Rolls, Tata Steel etc.
Altogether 25 participants attended from different organization like Tata Steel, ISWP, Usha Martin Ltd., Ramakrishna Forging Ltd., and Maryland Institute of Technology etc.
P D Mundhra, CEO, Tayo Rolls conducted a lively Q&A session and at the end distributed the certificates of participation to the attendees.
Earlier, Dr. Anil Kumar Choudhary, Hony. Secretary welcomed the chief guest, faculty and the participants and hoped that the seminar would greatly benefit the participants to perform better at their place of work.
Working engineers from different companies and educational institution like Tata Steel, ISWP, Ushamartin Ltd., Ramakrishna forgings, Maryland Institute of Technology and Management etc. attended the seminar.
