Jamshedpur: Tata Steel in association with National Grease Lubricating Institute (NGLI) India Chapter and The Institution of Engineers is jointly organizing a two-day Seminar titled �All India Seminar on Major Advances and Sustainable Developments in Lubrication Domain� at the United Club, Jamshedpur from September 13th to 14th, 2018. At Tata Steel, this is being driven by the Commodity Competency Team in Lubricant segment.
The Seminar will bring together participants from diverse fields including more than 100 delegates from major oil industries, 15 delegates from academic institutions including IIT’s, the Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CMERI), OP Jindal University and R & D Centre for Iron and Steel (RDCIS), 25 delegates from the steel industry, 23 from local companies of the eastern zone and 7 participants from OEMs represented by Primetals, Paul Wurth, Danieli, amongst others.
Lubrication in an integrated steel plant is a subject of significance owing to numerous types of lubricants being used for a diverse range of equipment. Steel plants work under varied operating conditions such as extreme heavy load to very high speeds, low to high temperatures, dusty polluted environment to humid acid environment scenarios. Hence proper selection of lubricants is essential for smooth operations in steel plants and for ensuring reliability of equipment.
The objective of this seminar is to share the best practices on Lubricants right from the designing stage to its usage for which academic institutions, Lubricant and Grease manufacturers and steel plants will do a cross sharing of ideas through technical paper presentations. Major steel producers like JSW, SAIL Group, JSPL, Bhushan Steel, Vedanta and Essar Steel ; Oil and Grease manufacturers; OEMs like Primetals, Paul Wurth and academic institutions such as IIT’s, CMERI and RDCIS have agreed to present their papers in the seminar.
Additionally, this seminar will present an opportunity to the vendors to show case their products. A total of 24 exhibition stalls are being set up for display of latest advancements in the field of Lubrication.
The inaugural session is scheduled on September 13 from 9.00 am at The United Club. The Chief Guest of the Seminar will be Anand Sen, President, TQM & Steel Business Tata Steel. Along with him, Avneesh Gupta, Vice President Shared Services Tata Steel & Chairman of The Institution of Engineers Jamshedpur, Probal Ghosh , Chief of Mechanical Maintenance, Tata Steel & Organising Secretary and Arun Kumar Jha, Head MED, Tata Steel & Chairman Commodity Competency Team Lubrication would be participating in the opening session and declaring the seminar and exhibition open. Dr N K Pokhrial from National Lubricating Grease Institute will deliver the Keynote Address.
